SECI Model

10 minutes (1 section)
Organizational Behavior

Course Description

Best practices and expert know-how are essential knowledge for employees.

But how can knowledge like this be created and shared throughout a company?

To answer this question, you can turn to the SECI model. It illustrates the process of knowledge creation and sharing across four dimensions – Socialization, Externalization, Combination, and Internalization.

In this online course, you’ll learn how to break down knowledge into two types – tacit, which is based on personal experience, and explicit, which is formalized information. You’ll then see how the SECI model illustrates the cycle in which these two knowledge types take place within organizations. In addition, you’ll also learn about the Japanese concept of “Ba,” and how this works with the SECI model.

Jump into this course and learn how to systematically create and share knowledge within your organization!
