Patent Trolls… Basically

Patents were originally designed to give creators the freedom to innovate without fear of theft. However, patent trolls exploit this system, buying patents solely to sue those who are actively building things. This course explores why these trolls target everyone from small entrepreneurs to large corporations to make a quick profit. We examine the horrible ripple effect this has on progress and why less innovation means fewer breakthroughs.
